OUR MISSION

About CMMC

The mission of Cure Multiple Myeloma Corporation (CMMC) is to help build a Metro Detroit myeloma community, which can support patients and caregivers and to help fund next generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend patients’ lives in pursuit of a cure. CMMC, a 501(c)(3), is the number one private funder of multiple myeloma research in the Detroit area.

CMMC was started by, Bloomfield Township resident Sidney Moss, who is living with multiple myeloma and credits aggressive research for providing him, and other patients, with a quality of life that wasn’t attainable 20 years ago.

In 2009 Moss was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. As he recalls it was a scary time, when the 67-year-old realized that he might not be around to see his grandchildren grow. Grateful for aggressive research, Moss felt he had to do something. “I wanted to help raise money, so I looked at what I like – good music, wine and great food. From that, I started Wine & Dine in the D,” Said Moss.

As the event grew, Moss realized that raising funds for research wasn’t the only benefit of Wine & Dine in the D. Over the years it grew to become an educational event that brought together the best doctors in the area and the Metro Detroit myeloma community. Under one roof for an evening first to learn and then to socialize and have fun, Wine & Dine in the D has grown to be the primary event for multiple myeloma in Michigan.

Realizing that there was more to this than a one-time-a- year event, Moss created Cure Multiple Myeloma Corporation, a 501(c)(3) established to educate myeloma patients and caregivers in the Metro Detroit area, provide a community of support, and to raise funds for myeloma research.
